We visited Erste Premier Lounge to unwind before a short flight home. The lounge was traditionally stylish and offered a good selection of breakfast items. Even though it was the only Priority Pass Lounge in Terminal 2, we found it a good choice. Please read more details from our review.

Erste Premier Lounge

Vaclav Havel Airport Prague offers three airport lounges in the main terminals. Two of the lounges, including Erste Premier Lounge, are situated in Terminal 2, which serves Schengen zone flights. Erste Premier Lounge is unique in Terminal 2 because it accepts common lounge membership cards, like Priority Pass. These features make it the go-to lounge for travellers without a lounge invitation from an airline.

Access Options

Members of Priority Pass, DragonPass, and LoungeKey can access Erste Premier Lounge. Others may purchase single-visit passes through Lounge Pass. While pay-at-the-counter access is available, pre-booking is advisable.

Certain airlines, like Finnair, invite their business and first-class customers to this lounge.

Our Visit to Erste Premier Lounge

Finding the Lounge

After clearing security in Terminal 2, finding the lounge was straightforward. The airport's clear signage led us to the stairs and the second floor.

Signage to airport lounges
The signs leading to airport lounges were clear.
Stairs to the second floor
The lounges were on the second floor, so we took these stairs.

We chose the less optimal staircase route, which led us to the second floor, where we had to turn left and enter a corridor through a glass door. In hindsight, there were both closer stairs and elevators that we could have used.

Lift to the second floor
Travellers can also access Erste Premier Lounge with a lift.

We first accidentally entered another lounge called FastTrack Lounge but Erste Premier Lounge was next to it.

Corridor to airport lounge
On this corridor, the first lounge on the right was wrong. We needed to walk a little further to find Erste Premier Lounge.
Entrance to Erste Premier Lounge
Soon, we found the entrance to Erste Premier Lounge.

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected, but switching between them requires a security check. The added step makes using Erste Premier Lounge in Terminal 2 unpractical for passengers departing from Terminal 1.

The lounge is in the Schengen Zone.

Arrival

Our arrival was smooth, thanks to the numerous staff members at the reception. We presented our Priority Pass membership card, and soon we were inside. The check-in process was quick and friendly.

Reception of the lounge
The check-in process was fast since there were many efficient staff members.

The lounge also accepted LoungeKey and DragonPass memberships. While the lounge grants members a 2-hour stay, this is generally not strictly monitored in airport lounges. For occasional visitors, purchasing a single-entry pass from Lounge Pass is a practical solution. Lounge Pass allows a 3-hour stay.

First Impression

The lounge looked modern since Terminal 2 is moderately new. Inside, it was clean and stylish, but we did not feel any WOW effect. The lounge had a brown-grey colour theme. There were soft leather chairs and regular tables and chairs for dining. The lounge offered a tarmac view, and it had two sections.

Premises of the lounge
The lounge featured a sophisticated palette of grey and brown tones, complementing its sleek and moderately modern design.

Besides the usual chairs, there were also high chairs and sofas.

Food and Drinks

The lounge served warm food, which is not self-evident in airport lounges. The warm items included pizza slices, boiled eggs, and tomato soup.

pizza slices
The lounge served square pizza slices.
Soup
The buffet table had also tomato soup when we visited at 10 am.

The food featured various breakfast items, from hot dishes like eggs and pizza slices to cold selections such as salads, cheeses, and cold cuts. It was a satisfying breakfast spread for our morning visit. Despite visiting during breakfast, the lounge thoughtfully offered hearty options like tomato soup, catering to hungrier travellers seeking something warm and satisfying beyond the usual morning fare.

cheese and ham
We could make our toasts by filling them with cheese, ham and other ingredients.
Salads
Healthier salad options were also available.

The breakfast buffet, though more limited than those found in hotels, provided a satisfying selection of foods. While the focus is on relaxation, the lounge offers enough to fill a stomach.

Breads
The bread selection was simple but acceptable.
Cereal
Young travellers and health-conscious individuals would appreciate the lounge's cereal selection, offering a simple yet nutritious option to start their day.

Besides a hearty breakfast spread, snacks are a staple of airport lounge offerings, and the Erste Premier Lounge was no exception. Guests could indulge in light bites alongside a curated beverage selection. Pairing a glass of fine wine with crispy chips provided a pleasantly relaxing way to pass the time while waiting for a flight, blending casual comfort with a touch of sophistication.

Snacks
After breakfast, we enjoyed a selection of snacks and drinks, making the most of the lounge's offerings.

The lounge had a diverse beverage selection, ranging from bottled and alcoholic beverages to hot and cold non-alcoholic options like coffee, tea, and soft drinks.

Fridge full of drinks
Cold bottled drinks, including beer, were available for self-service from the fridge.
Soft drink machine
The lounge had a soft drink machine and strong spirits.

The lounge's alcoholic drink selection was extensive, offering more variety than many others and catering to adult preferences with a range of spirits, wines, and beers. This comprehensive offering provided something for every taste. However, a notice displayed beside the wine bottles reminded guests that taking drinks and snacks out of the lounge is strictly prohibited, ensuring that travellers enjoy the amenities within the lounge space.

Wine bottles
The lounge served white and red wine and also sparking wine.
Tea
The tea selection was good enough. We could also take coffee from a machine.

Services

Erste Premier Lounge provided various services, from standard amenities to more unique offerings not typically found in airport lounges.

The lounge offered clean restroom facilities and showers, basic amenities that, unfortunately, are not always available in airport lounges. The inconvenience of exiting the lounge for restroom use would diminish the overall experience.

Restrooms
Men's restroom was clean.
Cream in toilet
Toiletries were provided at least in the men's toilet room.

The lounge catered to younger travellers with a dedicated play area and gaming zone, providing entertainment for small children and teenagers. For adults, lounges are a place to rest, so having children's entertainment gives parents more time to unwind.

Gamign zone and children
The lounge had a gaming zone for teenagers and a play area for younger children.

Business travellers will appreciate the convenient power outlets throughout the lounge. The lounge also offered free Wi-Fi and a selection of local and international newspapers and magazines.

Newspaper stand
The newspaper stand contained many local and international newspapers.
Power sockets
We found power sockets, including USB sockets, conveniently located between the soft chairs.

The lounge had several flight information screens, making it easy to track details of upcoming flights. Flight information screens are essential in airport lounges to help travellers stay informed about their flights, such as departure times and gate changes.

The lounge staff provided prompt and efficient service, ensuring tables were clean and the lounge remained well-maintained. Overall, the service level was commendable.

Rating

Erste Premier Lounge is a 4-star airport lounge providing a comfortable and functional experience. The lounge offered standard amenities like restrooms, showers, and some warm food choices. While the modern design was clean and inviting, the lounge lacked a distinctive style. The lounge is a reliable choice, but it offers no exceptional features.

PRO TIP

There are many ways to access airport lounges.

You will find more helpful information from our Airport Lounge Guide.

Bottom Line

For travellers departing from Terminal 2 with access to a lounge through a membership or airline invitation, the Erste Premier Lounge is often the sole option. Luckily, this lounge provides a comfortable and well-equipped environment.

We accessed the lounge through our Priority Pass and were pleased with the experience. The check-in process was efficient, the breakfast buffet offered a satisfying selection, and the lounge itself was clean and well-equipped with essential amenities like restrooms.
