Black Friday is a good time to book trips and pick up travel gear. Not every deal is exceptional, as similar prices for products and trips are often available at other times. On average, though, prices are lower, and there are some excellent finds. Here we share our favourite picks and what to watch for during Black Friday.
The best Black Friday travel deals
Cruises
Many cruise lines offer clearly discounted sailings at Black Friday prices. The offers usually cover the current winter season or dates far in the future. If you are planning, for example, a Mediterranean cruise, now could be an excellent time to book.

Airport lounges
Airport lounges, and especially the membership programs tied to them, are discounted during Black Friday.
Priority Pass is one of the best-known airport lounge programs, and it grants access to, among others, Helsinki Airport's Aspire Lounge. There are several membership tiers: some offer discounted visits, others unlimited free access. Black Friday discounts can be significant. You can also buy single lounge visits via Lounge Pass, but these rarely get extra discounts.

For frequent travellers, a good alternative is a credit card, such as American Express Platinum or Nordea Platinum, which includes Priority Pass membership. These cards are usually not part of Black Friday promotions, but they often come with other introductory offers.
Luggage and other travel essentials
It is wise not to carry too much on the road, but certain essentials, like luggage, are necessary. Many also pack electronics such as a camera, noise-cancelling headphones, or a drone.

Suitcases are inexpensive around Black Friday, even at supermarkets, so it is a good time to replace bags and other essentials. Electronics can also be cheap, even if the discount percentages are not always as large. If you need gear or electronics for a trip, now can be a good time to buy. Still, avoid superficial discounts and focus on the final price and whether it is genuinely good value.
Flights
Airfare varies a lot even outside Black Friday, and margins are small, so Black Friday usually does not bring huge discounts. Sales run year-round. You might still find very cheap flights on some routes during Black Friday, but do not expect many targeted offers.

Hotels are among the best categories for Black Friday. Rooms can be heavily discounted, and during the campaign week, the percentages are often substantial. In Finland, it is sometimes possible to find a 4-star hotel with breakfast for around €75 per room, and abroad, prices are often even lower.
We do not recommend any single hotel chain; if you need accommodation, compare prices both on popular booking sites and on the hotels' own pages. Black Friday can be a good time to book if accommodation is on your to-do list. However, remember that the advertised discount percentages do not always tell the whole story, as hotels run promotions almost continuously and prices fluctuate.
Package holidays
Package holidays, especially the more expensive ones, have healthy margins so that travel agencies can offer large discounts. For travellers booking a package tour, Black Friday can be an excellent time to secure next summer's holiday.
We do not single out offers from individual tour operators; instead, we encourage you to explore well-known Finnish providers and check their Black Friday discounts. Do not focus on percentages—compare prices in euros. A discount that sounds big can still be expensive, while a smaller discount can make the price surprisingly affordable.
