What Is MIRL
MIRL (Meet In Real Life) is a social advice network that lets users find experts on various topics and either call them immediately or schedule a call later. While similar to platforms like Upwork or Fiverr, MIRL focuses on instant social advice. In MIRL, Seekers seek help, while Experts offer assistance.
Unlike other platforms, interactions on MIRL are brief and conducted via calls. Experts set their rates for 10-minute sessions. Instead of paying for results, Seekers pay by the minute for consulting.
Roots in America
MIRL comes from Delaware, United States. The company behind the app is Mirl Connect Inc. Although the app is American, it markets itself as an international platform. The official launch date was April 30, 2025, after a period of premarketing.

A Dream of Being Digital Nomad
MIRL and similar apps target individuals who aspire to become digital nomads. A digital nomad works remotely while travelling or living in various locations, often relying on technology to stay connected. They typically earn a living through freelance work, remote jobs, or online businesses.
MIRL aspires to be a platform where digital nomads can offer services.
Seekers and Experts
MIRL has two different user groups: Seekers and Experts.
Seekers
Seekers are individuals or businesses looking for advice. They can find suitable experts and schedule calls. Calls are priced per 10-minute session. Since Seekers pay for consultations using a credit card, their MIRL profile isn't significant.
Money is the power of Seekers.
Experts
Anyone can become an Expert on MIRL. An Expert is someone with knowledge in a specific area willing to offer consultation calls. Official qualifications aren't required to be an Expert on MIRL.
Expertise is the power of Experts.
How Seekers and Experts Meet
Seekers can use MIRL's versatile search engine to find Experts. The search function is likely the easiest way for a Seeker to locate an Expert with the proper knowledge.
MIRL also features something called Sparks. Sparks are short messages, announcements, photos, or videos that allow you to share interesting content. Other MIRL users can follow each other, and Sparks are a great way to promote expertise. Following Sparks is free.

You can be a Seeker and an Expert using just one profile.
Getting Calls as an Expert
You must have a strong profile to encourage someone to call and pay for your consultation. Building trust with Seekers is vital by demonstrating your expertise in the topics. That's why creating a compelling profile and linking to sources that validate your expertise is crucial. Over time, you'll also receive ratings on MIRL based on your previous calls with Seekers.

Advantages of MIRL
MIRL stands out from many similar services due to its unique approach. The key difference is that interactions between Experts and Seekers are brief and take place through short calls, rather than involving larger projects. One of the benefits is that Seekers can quickly get the information they need with minimal hassle.
Another of MIRL's advantages is its simplicity. The user-friendly interface and limited initial features make it easy to use the platform. From our brief experience, the user interface is intuitive and user-friendly.
A third advantage is that MIRL handles the payment process smoothly. Seekers pay by card, and Experts receive their earnings through Stripe. Both methods are straightforward and secure.
Disadvantages of MIRL
The current feature set is limited. Earning through calls alone may make it difficult to receive enough consultations.. Since a single call can cost Seekers tens of dollars, the barrier to initiating even a short call may be relatively high.
There is already considerable competition on MIRL. We suspect that only a few users are willing to pay for calls, while many offer their expertise. As a result, only the top Experts are likely to earn money on the platform.
Since the platform is still young, there aren't many real experiences. While every platform has to start somewhere, it's always wise to be cautious when trying something new. MIRL has the potential to become a major success or fade into obscurity.
Is MIRL a Good Fit for Digital Nomads?
It's still too early to tell how popular MIRL will become. While it can serve as one potential income stream for digital nomads, it’s likely to remain a minor source in its current form. You’ll need several more stable income sources to sustain a digital nomad lifestyle. That said, MIRL could be a valuable platform for networking and, with some luck, also provide you with additional earnings.
How to Start Using MIRL
To start using MIRL, download MIRL to your Apple or Android device. Creating a profile takes just a few minutes, and adding more information to become an Expert takes about 15 minutes. Once you have registered, you’re ready to start using the app and earning, as long as someone wants to call and pay for your expertise.
If you seek advice as a Seeker, using the app is simple. Just create a profile, add a card to your wallet, find an Expert, and schedule a call. You will need much more patience if you wish to earn as an Expert.
Pricing of MIRL
Downloading and using the basic features of MIRL is free. For example, you can post Sparks and read others' Sparks without cost. However, if you want to schedule a call with an Expert, you must pay for it.
Experts are required to pay a 20% commission on their earnings to MIRL.
Real Life Meetings?
MIRL stands for "Meet in Real Life." Interestingly, the name feels a bit misleading, as the platform currently relies on calls and Sparks for interaction, and there are no actual in-person meetings. Perhaps this could evolve in the future.
Bottom Line
MIRL is a new platform with promising potential. Although it may not yet provide a primary income stream for digital nomads, it can be a valuable tool for networking and earning supplemental income. As the platform evolves, it will likely expand its features and become more versatile.
Currently, calls are the only way to earn on MIRL. We believe they’re not ideal for solving complex problems, but they serve as a good starting point. We hope to see a broader range of consultation methods added to the platform in the future.
If the platform gains traction, joining early is wise - competition usually increases over time. Creating a profile and getting familiar with the platform is free, and in the best-case scenario, you might even start earning.
